Position: VP INVESTMENT BANKING

Requirements: International Investment bank seeks a VP who has experience working in Africa. Right candidates have established senior networks and relationships in the region, that they can leverage to sell in products/offerings across the full Banking spectrum. 

Principal accountabilities:
• Investigating, prioritising and where appropriate exploit new business opportunities for the origination of global banking mandates to maximise profitability and business development
• Working closely with the banking teams   to maximise the ability to generate new client opportunities within the  Africa Region
• Supporting regional activities in the origination and execution of advisory transactions
• Advising clients on the negotiation of critical transaction documents, including confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, sale and purchase agreements etc
• Undertake strong commercial and financial analysis in the following areas: discounted cash flow, comparable company, pro-forma merger impacts and precedent analysis

Key Competencies & Qualifications:
• Strong execution track record across a range of transaction structures; including having advised clients on; mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, strategic/hostile defence situations
• Wider experience of public financings (including issuance of equity, debt and/or convertible offerings)
• Proven project management skills, including leading transaction execution teams, managing the workflows and interbank cooperation of transactions
• Familiar with takeover regulation, competition law and stock exchange listing rules
• Prior experience of working with African clients
