Principal Accountabilities:

· Excellent understanding of Options pricing and hedging, volatility and correlation, valuation of complex transactions, statistical analysis, regression and stress testing.
· Have 2-3 years experience in the UK/EU energy market or in a financial environment.
· Have excellent theoretical knowledge of derivative instruments and practical experience in their applications and behaviour. In depth understanding of valuation and risk analysis methods.

Position: SENIOR QUANTITATIVE DEVELOPER

Responsibilities:
· Developing and implementing quantitative models based on the requirements from the traders
· Interfacing directly with the trading staff across power, gas and other commodity desks
· While a lot of the product prototyping takes place in Excel/ VBA the overwhelming majority of the trading systems and peripheral tools (like storage, swing, tolling and option pricing) are written in C# and interface with the C++ libraries

Required Experience

Position: Risk Control – Team Leader

The team is responsible for the appropriate valuation, analysis and provision of daily Risk and Performance information for the Trading Desks (Coal and Freight Desk and the UK Power Complex Desk).  Products traded by the desk include Power (UK and Continental), NBP Gas, Coal, Dry Freight, ROCS and EU ETS.

The position will involve the following activities:
· Preparing daily and monthly risk reports for one of the trading desks
· Risk measurement and limit checking, including stress testing and validation of input parameters used by pricing and risk measurement models
· Providing detailed analysis of risk measures, positions, P&L and trading strategies for traders and senior management
· Valuation and capture of new products within both the core trading system (Endur) and development of secondary risk systems where required
· Managing a team (4-5 team members) to provide guidance and training to junior members of staff and contribute to the development of the team including, target setting, annual reviews, development plans, mentoring and coaching

Experience/ Skills
· Previous risk controlling and reporting experience within a trading organisation or other risk-based environment
· Good understanding of risk methodologies - both qualitative and quantitative, coupled with an ability to understand how these methodologies would be utilised most effectively within an energy industry organisation
· A strong ability to demonstrate leadership skills would be an advantage
· Ability to take accountability for the work delegated to team members, whilst at all times ensuring that tasks are delivered in a timely and effective manner
· Disciplined and organised approach to work, with the ability to work under pressure from time to time is essential
· Enthusiastic approach to work with a willingness to create and evolve with changing processes
· Knowledge of the following systems would also be an advantage - OLF Endur, SQL, Business Objects, Crystal Reports

Position: RISK MANAGER

Requirements: International trading company seeks a Risk Manager to be responsible for internal risk, ensuring that all pre-set contractual terms with third parties are met and trading limits are not exceeded.  Once the trade is set, checking that the documentation drafted by the logistics team matches the trade terms and requirements and ensuring that best terms have been applied.

Main responsibilities include:
· To ensure risk control over the LME/physical trading
· Check that the trade has been hedged by the LME traders
· Approve contractual terms and flag anything that is unusual or high risk
· Check all contractual terms and ensure adherence
· Produce statistical figures on P&L
· Involved in the VaR for the company
· Ensure that company is protected against potential risk and take out insurance where necessary
· Analyse against credit risk and pass to the CFO for final confirmation as to whether the business is too high risk to work with
· Liaise with Logistics team with regard to LC’s documentation and terms
· Coordinating and executing of shipments 

Ideal applicants will have:
· An experienced Risk Manager with good exposure to a physical metals trading environment and understanding of physical trading, LME hedging and logistics terms. 
· Strength of character is required to deal with potentially stressful situations
· Ability to communicate at all levels and assert authority to ensure that procedures are adhered to
