Position: SENIOR LME TRADER

Requirements: Metals trading group seeks an LME Trader to ensure that trades are executed as required, deals are checked according to procedures and trades are loaded into the system.  
 

Responsibilities:
• Option trading in aluminium and copper, follow up and control
• JV jobbing, aluminium
• Reporting to JV partners with copy to Chairman, CEO and CFO
• Checking margin calls
• Checking LME positions with LME Brokers 
• Checking cash positions
• Checking Tom next positions
• Inputting deals into system
• Ensuring broker recaps are checked against dealing book
• Checking physical pricings are reported to respective physical trader/shipping department
• Making sure daily physical pricings are correct for each metal
• Liaising with brokerage houses on margins, net liquidity, individual brokerage positions
• Checking daily physicals intakes/outgoings and average pricings

Ideal candidates will have/ be:
• LME and options trading experience 
• FSA examinations – desirable but not essential
• Ability to work under pressure

Position: STEEL BUSINESS MANAGER

Requirements: Trading organisation seeks a Steel Business Manager to determine and manage the development, implementation and ongoing strategy of the steel futures contracts with the objective of maximizing the potential for the success of the contracts. Also with full understanding of the workings of the LME in the context of the steel industry and explain how price risk management will assist the steel industry

Responsibilities will include:
• Investigating the feasibility of new contracts for steel and related products and once approved by the Board of Directors, project manage their implementation
• Presenting at conferences and events in the steel industry in order to promote the steel contracts and educate industry players
• Promoting through direct contact with the steel industry the use and effectiveness of the steel contracts
• Managing the day to day activities and direction of steel marketing executives
• Participating and assisting the Chairman of the Steel Committee
• Working with Education and Market Data to ensure the relevance of their material and products to steel and to promote those products to the industry, where appropriate
• Monitoring trading of steel and assisting in improving their understanding of, and contacts in, the steel industry
• Preparing weekly reports on trading activity for dissemination to a select group of interested parties; members and industry participants
• Coordinating with departments to ensure rules and regulations are updated and relevant to steel on an ongoing basis
• Supporting and coordinating with other business managers in the commercial department to promote products

Ideal candidates will have/be:
• High academic standard, degree educated
• Successful track record in the steel industry
• 10+ years relevant experience
• Ability to communicate to a high degree both internally and externally to small and large audiences
• Good Project management skills
• Excellent Presentational skills 
• Should be conversant with Windows packages: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
